The HMS Bounty Jigsaw Puzzle

The HMS Bounty shown in this photo is the replica of the original and was purpose built in 1960 for the movie "The Bounty" starring Marlon Brando and has also been used for that all time cunning pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Man's Chest.

Nowadays the HMS Bounty trades the ports of the world as a tourist attraction, with thousands flocking to climb aboard wherever she goes to relive the romantic days when ships went to sea under sail.

The original Bounty was captained by William Bligh and was infamous for the mutiny that took place in the Pacific on April 28, 1789. Lead by Fletcher Christian, the mutineers took control of the bounty just off Tahiti, put Captain Bligh and 18 loyal crewmen to sea in a 7 meter launch and left them to fend for themselves.

Eventually Fletcher Christian found Pitcairn Island and scuttled the Bounty, sending her to the bottom of the sea. The descendents of the mutineers still live on Pitcairn Island today.
