Did you know that Buckingham Palace is the official London home of Her Majesty Elizabeth the Queen of England. Originally called Buckingham House and built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham, King George III bought the residence in 1762.

As the residence of the English Royal family, many functions are held in the palace and visiting dignitaries and world leaders stay at the palace when visiting London. Many, many thousands of tourists visit each year and Buckingham Palace is one of the most known buildings in the world.

One of the favorite things to see at Buckingham Palace is the changing of the guards. This grand ceremoney occurs daily during summer and every second day in winter.
