Kookaburra Jigsaw Puzzle

The Australian kookaburra bird belongs to the kingfisher family and is found right along the east coast of Australia. There are 2 main types of Kookaburra, the blue winged kookaburra and the laughing kookaburra.

Actually both species laugh, but the "Laughing Kookaburra" makes a very jolly laugh much like a human, while the blue winged laugh is more like a cackle. When they laugh they are defining their territory as they stick to their patch of the world very ferociously.

They usually laugh in the morning and at dusk and for those living near a nest, it is one of those sounds that make a person feel happy and thankful to be alive. They do live in residential areas where parkland is plentiful and this one was sitting on a persons clothes line in their backyard.
