Did you know that giraffes are the tallest animals on this planet and have been idolized by humans for many centuries. Their images have been found depicted in some of the oldest rock paintings. In the past giraffes were killed just for the tail as it made a much sought after fly whisk, good thread for sewing and great "good luck" bracelts. Even today giraffes are killed by poachers , mainly for their meat.

Young giraffes are around 6 feet tall at birth and grow quickly, almost an inch a day. This young giraffe is already 12 feet tall and will grow about another 3 feet and will be around 15 fett or more when an adult.
