Did you know that giraffes and other animals get along well together, both in zoos and in the wild. It is believed that some animals stay close to giraffes because with their tall necks, they can see danger coming from quite a distant so lions and other flesh eating animals are less likely to sneak up undetected.

Most zoo's place giraffes and zebra together, not just for company, so that the space of an enclosure is utilized to the fullest. Taronga Zoo Sydney does just that and the enclosure is in one of the most beautiful locations with the Sydney skyline and famous Opera House visible across the harbour waters.
