Reincarnations Awakening Game Review
Reincarnations
Awakening takes you into the world of past lives, where you play
as Jane Chasey, a 36 year old writer and mother of 2, on a mission
to write an article about reincarnation. Jane enlists the services
of Dr Herzle, a rather eccentric professor, who claims to have
developed portals to explore reincarnation theories through hypnosis.
As you, playing as Jane, need first hand experience to make the
article on reincarnation authentic, could Dr Herzle be just the
person you require to guide you into the spirit world?
Reincarnations Awakening follows similar IHOG adventures, using
interactive elements within the hidden object game theme, to enhance
player experience and enjoyment. The story is solid and keeps
you engrossed throughout the game and you are driven onward through
each portal in time to witness your own past life experiences.
There are 5 past life portals to explore with various themes.
You go through former lives as an eastern lady, a magician, criminal,
young girl and even have a past life as a love sick puppy dog.
With the opening scenario in the office plus where you make your
way into Dr Herzel's spooky mansion, all up there are seven chapters
to the story. You have certain items to find and puzzles to solve,
which allows you to obtain gems that will lead you into the next
chapter.
Graphics are very nice with candles flickering in the breeze,
cats tails wagging and other objects moving within the scenes
to add a touch of realism. Objects are in the main easy to find,
there is no game timer, music is unobtrusive and mini puzzles
not overly difficult. The hint system is unlimited but you do
need to wait while the hint bar quickly recharges after use. You
can skip mini games without penalty, if they are either too difficult
or too boring, but again the skip button must charge first, with
about a minutes wait before you are able to active the skip option.
There is no penalty for too many random clicks.
Reincarnations Awakening is a very good interactive adventure,
with it's major flaw being a bit too easy and a bit short. I finished
the game in around 3 hours, but did skip some of the mini games.
I like the interaction with some of the hidden objects. For example
in one scene you had to find a happy dog. There was a sad dog
and on looking at the scene there was a feather. Logic says to
take the feather and tickle the dog, presto one happy dog. There
are other interactions like this where you must use logic throughout
the game, but even these logic items are made easy by a sparkle
over the items concerned.
Reincarnations Awakening is one where you really must try the
free trial as it is a lot of fun to play, but as stated, it could
be a tad too short for some to make the decision to buy the full
version. I eagerly await the sequel, as the ending suggests there
is more to come. Hopefully it will be a little longer and a little
harder.
