Legends of the Wild West Golden Hill Game Review
There
has been several hidden object games released of late and this
isn't the pick of the crop. In fact Legends of the Wild West Golden
Hill doesn't come close to the top games, yet does have some good
points of it's own.
The story is quite good and spins a tale of romance and adventure.
Two lovers who are circus performers in 1870 Europe, are split
when Luca decides to follow his dreams and immigrate to America.
Poor Natalie is torn between her love for Luca and her roots in
Europe. It's not long before she misses Luca greatly and her love
for him compels her to rejoin Luca in the Wild West.
The game produces some gimmicky, yet nice touches in graphics
and background. Some of the characters move in scenes, such as
gentlemen doffing their hats and cat tails wagging. Unfortunately,
the objects are scatted throughout the scenes and the game just
doesn't reach the heights that such a story could have climbed.
Legends of the Wild West Golden Hill does have grammatical problems.
Mini games don't seem to be entwined with the game and are therefore
useless to the overall game play and you can skip them completely.
Good waste of time that one. And speaking of time, the game doesn't
have a timer, which may be a good thing if you are stuck looking
for objects with no bearing on the game. Another huge annoyance
is the announcement at the completion of each stage that "You
Won". No need to tell everyone that because it is obvious
to blind Freddy that your finished that level.
Legends of the Wild West Golden Hill seems to have been slapped
together and is a real disappointment, as the story could be developed
so much further. Who doesn't like a good romantic novel where
the hero is a dashing young adventurer and the heroine a beautiful
yet lively lass, deeply in love. But it just doesn't develop into
something that compels you past the free trial hour. Pity, but
some go the extra mile and some games are just the run of the
mill. This is one of the latter, so we suggest you play the free
trial and see what you think. We all have our own likes and dislikes,
but for me, Legends of the Wild West Golden Hill is just average.
