Drawn The Painted Tower Review
Iris
is a gifted child, the only one left of a once talented and special
family. Her gift is is special. Whatever she draws lives a wonderland
life within the sketches and the paintings themselves are portals
to magical worlds. But storytales always have a villain and in
Drawn The Painted Tower, there is a wicked and evil Chancellor
who has stolen the light and wants to lock Iris away and deprive
her of her gift. You must help her escape the Painted Tower so
she can restore the light to her village and return the happiness
within all her paintings. Hurry, darkness is fast approaching
and you must free her from the Painted Tower before total darkness
falls.
Drawn The Painted Tower is one of the best interactive adventures
yet developed. Right from the start you are captivated by the
story line and the hidden object influenced game. Voice overs
are clear and concise and the dialogue takes you into the game
where you must click and find useful items, solve riddles and
complete puzzles. Central to the game theme is the use of drawings
to complete puzzles, such as in the first scene you use a picture
of a door handle to open the door. You get the idea easily (or
should I say "picture") and this theme continues throughout
the game. If you need a squirrel look for a piece of paper with
a squirrel drawn on it and so on.
There are ample hints within the game and you have a friend,
Franklin, who will guide you all the way. Click on Franklin then
click the item you need help with and he will give you a clue.
You read everything you can, talk with all the characters and
figure out what to do with different objects that you collect
during your quest. Mini games can be skipped and objects sparkle
to show you that they should be read, picked up or interacted
with in some way or another. It's not too difficult and really
keeps you involved.
Graphics are excellent and the music unobtrusive. Remember what
you have read or looked at and everything will have a place. On
the down side you do have to wait each time you enter a new scene
for it to load and the game length isn't long. These little annoyances
are well offset by the great story and the way that Drawn The
Painted Tower leads you into the adventure and holds your attention
to the finale.
We highly recommend Drawn The Painted Tower as a must have game
and if you try the free trial download, after a few minutes you
will certainly want the full version, so be prepared to loosen
the purse strings to buy the lock. Drawn The Painted Tower is
