Alabama Smith in the Quest of Fate is not just another hidden object game, it is a true interactive adventure where you don't just find a list of objects, you use certain objects to make things move, or combine the item with another item to cause a reaction. Alabama Smith in the Quest of Fate is a new age IHOG where your logic is your best strategy. You need to consider the scene and work out the logical way to use various objects. This makes for an enjoyable and thrilling game, one that is a must play for all HOG fans.

It also helps when Alabama Smith is in possession of a magical talisman called the Amulet of Time. You get the opportunity to really have some fun, going backward and forward in time to collect clues or pit your wits against ancient Mayan puzzles. In the last episode Alabama journeyed to Pompeii. This game takes you on an adventure to Peru's Macchu Picchu, The Lost City of the Incas, to find the Crystals of Fortune. The world depends on you, if the Crystals of Fortune fall into the wrong hands, namely a mysterious nemesis that would have power over the entire planet, the world as we know it would be changed forever.

Alabama Smith in the Quest of Fate gently eases you into the game and the first chapter will equip you with the necessary items you will need during your quest. Using items such as keys to open locks you will enter into a fascinating world, where your choices will take you to one of two possible endings.

With a great story line and good graphical scenes, Alabama Smith in the Quest of Fate is right up there with the best hidden object adventure games. Good mini puzzles round out a great interactive adventure where the emphasis is certainly on using the various items within scenes, not just looking for objects within a generated list.

The downsides are few, some objects not relevant to the time era, especially the Mayan Temple and the audio may test the nerves of some as it loops and loops. These are very small annoyances and if you look at the big picture, you are surely going to enjoy the many hours it will take to complete Alabama Smith in the Quest of Fate. Big thumbs up for this IHOG, which we rate just behind the likes of Return to Ravenhearst.
