If a game rich in the occult puts you off, then this is not a game that you would consider. For all others who enjoy some dark, mysterious themes, Three Cards To Dead Time should be a thriller.

Secondly, Three Cards To Dead Time follows on from the first episode, 3 Cards to Midnight, fairly closely. You may want to refresh your memory if you did play that title, or perhaps try that game before tackling this latest epic adventure as the story line could be confusing at first. It won't be a real turn off though if you didn't play the first episode, as 3 Cards To Dead Time will quickly embroil you into the mysterious story after the first few scenes.

You play as Jess Silloway, a young woman who has Ghost Whisperer like abilities. Your dreams have become filled with strange feelings about your long departed grandmother, who disappeared some 80 years ago without a trace. You follow your dreams, using your amazing powers of observation and deduction, to uncover the truth about that fateful night.

3 Cards To Dead Time does not follow the usual hidden object theme in that you are given word phrases to deduct what items you should find. Scenes are not the usual cluttered junk yard messes, they are quite clean and while you do have to use a lot of logic to find what you are looking for, this makes the game even more entertaining. Puzzles are quite challenging and while they can be skipped, you do get a points penalty, with the good news being that you can go back later and try again. There is an easy and a challenge game mode.

All in all, 3 Cards To Dead Time is a fabulous adventure where all your powers of deduction will be tested. It isn't your usual HOG and it will depend largely on your brain power to figure out what items are needed, which may turn some completely off this game. At least you do have the free download of 3 Cards to Dead Time to try before you buy. Highly recommended to those that love a challenge and something a bit different from the norm.

There are 7 chapters with 3 scenes and 1 or 2 puzzles to each chapter.
Puzzles can be skipped and played later.
For each item you find you will receive 10 or more points. Harder items receive more points.
For every 100 points earned you receive an additional hint.
You have only 9 random clicks before being made to start over.
Each chapter is awarded stars, with 4 stars being the highest. You can replay chapters to make your scores higher.
