Something Special Review
So what makes Something Special, special? That is something we
here are still trying to figure out and that is probably the hardest
thing to this latest hidden object game encountered so far. As
a hidden object game, Something Special could be shelved in the
kids and family section. It certainly isn't overly difficult and
it certainly isn't Something Special.
Mature
hard nosed HOG fans should give this game a big miss, yet for
the younger brigade and those who enjoy a bit of hidden object
hunting that won't give you gray hairs and sore eyes, this is
for you. Good graphics and a story line with a bit of adventure
and geographical history, make Something Special a game worth
at least giving the free trial a chance.
After hidden object games like Return to Ravenhearst, we fans
of the gender have been totally spoiled. Something Special does
have a few good features, is a pure hidden object adventure without
those puzzle style mini games and is played at an easy pace which
is enjoyable for a change.
You play as Zoe, who embarks on a road trip seeking that "Something
Special" to sparkle up her life. Well many of us can relate
to that. We all try to find Utopia at some stage of life. During
the game, you travel to some well known landmarks, places like
the Lunchbox
Museum in Columbus Georgia which houses a giant collection
of metal lunch boxes and the Cockroach
Hall of Fame with, you guessed it, a collection of wacky cockroaches,
some with names like Liberoachi, who sits at a piano in a mink
coat.
Educational to say the least, Something Special will teach a
little history of America. You will also get off the beaten track
and visit a few weird and wonderful places that's not found on
too many road maps.
Graphics are good. Objects not too difficult to find. Game play
can be rated as easy. We strongly suggest playing the free download
and perhaps sticking with the trial. Something Special isn't special,
just a good hidden object game that we rate around 3 from 5.
