Murder, She Wrote Game Review
You won't get any prizes for guessing that Murder She Wrote is
a hidden object game, or for that matter, a prize for guessing
that the game is based on the old, but very popular television
series, Murder, She Wrote, starring Angela Landsbury. You would
be right on both counts. But fans of the series, and there were
millions of them around the world, will be delighted to hear that
as a hidden object game, Murder, She Wrote is right up there with
the very best classic HOG's.
With
5 different murder cases to solve, with each case having 14 to
18 chapters, this gives you around 80 levels to complete. You
help Jessica Fletcher gather clues to discover who was the perpetrator
of the crime in each unique adventure. (Surely you must remember
Jessica, the star of the series, who is a world renowned mystery
novelist, and a mighty good detective to boot). You hunt out clues
in junk yard scenes, where the majority of the items to find are
closely matched to the particular scene. You do revisit some scenes
where you have previously searched, but items are in different
places, which makes it seem quite within the story to go back
again.
Murder, She Wrote has 2 game modes, relaxed and timed, and the
hint system is quite adequate, plus if you find a typewriter ribbon,
the hint system will speed up when it needs to be replenished.
There are a variety of mini games and some fun scenes where, for
example, you have to feed a seagull enough fish for it to eventually
be full and fly away, revealing an object behind.
You do have to find typewriter keys to match the missing letters
in list words, but this isn't overly difficult. You can skip mini
games, but are penalized a time deduction if playing in timed
mode. Interacting with characters will give information and lead
you to the culprit.
Murder, She Wrote is a fabulous classic hidden object game, with
about 5 hours or more playing length to get through the 5 different
stories, plus the mini games. Good value with some replay value
as items are random, so when replaying the objects are in different
places. Some of the mini games are also random, such as the lining
up of the cigars logos.
Highly recommend Murder, She Wrote as there is very little wrong
with the game, yet lots of things to like. The difficulty isn't
hard, yet the stories keep you interested from start to finish.
The first story is the longest and the most challenging, keeping
you guessing the identity of the murderer right to the end. Fabulous
game, so don't hesitate to try Murder, She Wrote right away.
