Masters of Mystery: Blood of Betrayal Game Review
A definite improvement over the first Masters
of Mystery - Crimes of Fashion, which was an excellent game
anyway, Blood of Betrayal takes you into the crime world of New
York, investigating double murders, drug smuggling and cops on
the take. The story is really intruiging and entwines you right
from the start, plus the graphics in this are truly outstanding
with almost photo like reality. Masters of Mystery Blood of Betrayal
is a real winner in every way.
You
once again take the role of Carrie Chase, a young detective who
has a good nose for fine detail and a strong intuition, and perhaps
a crush on her boss, the very handsome Captain Cross. You must
investigate a double murder and find clues to uncover the perpetrators
of the crime. This takes you on a sometimes difficult seek and
find clue hunt, which not only will lead you to the murderer,
but may uncover some startling facets of your own life, as Carrie.
Is there a hint of love around the corner for Carrie? Are other
cops trying to hide their involvement? Is Carries father somehow
involved and is he still alive? All will be revealed within the
game, the story is gripping.
You have various forensic tools to use in your investigation,
as well as your intuition and keen eye for detail. UV lights,
flashlights, magnifying glass, microscopes, finger print analysis,
all the tools you need for a complete forensic investigation as
well as a fully equipped lab. You find clues which point you forward,
such as a business card with address, and move between locations
to further your investigation. You may need to match finger prints,
boot prints, license plates or find the differences in blood samples.
This is a realistic crime investigation.
Masters of Mystery Blood of Betrayal has good playing length,
plus most hidden object scenes are randomised, making replay good
value as items are different when replaying scenes. There are
2 game modes, Timed or Relaxed, and an unlimited hint system that
you do need on occasions. Mini games are all entwined within the
plot so are very relevaant to the whole story. Not just poked
into the game as fillers. Objects as also relevant to the scene
and are sized accordingly, some being hard to detect in shadows
or hidden behind other items.
As a classic hidden object game, Masters of Mystery Blood of
Betrayal takes the cake on what has been on offer lately. Certainly
a fabulous, fun filled, 4 to 5 hours of seek and find action,
with a great story that keeps you totally involved from start
to finish. This is a sure winner and a good addition to anyones
game chest. Get this one, you won't be sorry.
