Between the Worlds Review

All hidden object fans crave for games that will surpass the benchmark set by Return To Ravenhearst, but don't get your hopes up too high with this latest offering, Between the Worlds. While it does have some good features and is worth the bother of trying out the free download, it certainly comes up short when compared with the leading HOG games.

One of the biggest downfalls with Between the Worlds is the difficulty of finding some of the objects. Now we all want a HOG with a challenge, but some objects in particular are just too difficult to find, as they are blended into the background almost seamlessly (a black owl on a black background), which renders them nigh on impossible to see without using the help feature. Luckily you do get 5 hints each level so you eventually don't stress out by the hardness too much.

One big plus for Between the Worlds is a big variation of different puzzles and mini games, that take away from the repetitiveness of of the seek and find game play. Jigsaw puzzles, match stick games and mazes keep you on your toes and there are 3 bonus levels as a further incentive to keep playing.

Whilst some of the items are either very well hidden or blended too well within the background, overall the graphics are sharp and clear. The story isn't fabulous, but if you have a good imagination, which all gamers should have, then you can get immersed in an evil sorcerer doing evil deeds and finding answers in a land between the living and dead.

As stated above, Between the Worlds is no threat to the really great and memorable hidden object games, but will have it's share of devotees that will enjoy another game in a great genre. Try the free trial of Between the Worlds and see if you could add it to your own game chest.
