System Mania Game Review
Quite
unique, this latest time management game from Pi Eye Games is
creating a lot of interest from the gaming community, with some
declaring System Mania the best time management game idea to come
along in a long time.
We here do take our hats off the the developers for giving us
something fresh, something that is fun and certainly takes many
hours of concentrated, yet light hearted, gameplay to finish.
With some 80 levels and several playing modes, System Mania is
the most different game we have yet played.
You play as a fix-it shop owner who specializes in fixing wacky
machinery. Have you ever heard of a Penguin Distracter or Theoretical
Hoover with cranks, pulleys and wheels of all shapes and sizes
to keep working correctly or they blow up. Your job is to get
them chugging away smoothly and to push red warning lights, dial
in secret switchboard codes or pushed sliders up and down to keep
them running. Ah, it's all in a good days work.
There are mini games to break the monotony of frantic clicking
and many different ways to keep machines chugging along, such
as plucking guitar strings or pulling ripcords, with bonuses awarded
for making chains and combos.
The main game frame is played in story mode with 6 different
characters giving at times helpful and humorous advice. Arcade
mode allows you to play for points in each level and new levels
are attained when you reach a goal. You can play for trophies
or push a "tricky" button to speed the game up and play
faster. Now you will be clicking rapidly.
Overall System Mania is a fresh approach to casual games and
as such deserves that you give this one a try. You won't be disappointed
yet some may find the frantic clicking a little overwhelming after
some time. System Mania rates a 4 from 5 from us here and something
that we consider very worthwhile and good value.
