Cake Mania Main Street Game Review

The Cake Mania series has so far proved to be a gold mine for developers Sandlot Games, and their latest time management game in the popular series, Cake Mania Main Street, will undoubtedly rise to the top of the pile. While it is similar in game play to other Cake Mania titles, Main Street does introduce various twists that breathe new life into a much done, yet loved, game genre.

Cake Mania Main Street sees you helping Jill once again bake her way into the annals of history, this time working hard to assist her home town of Bakersfield from becoming a ghost town. You don't just help Jill set up and manage a busy bakery shop, you help Jill's husband and other friends to make the town grow, by operating a Burger Barn, a Flower Shop and take the role of a former Sumo Wrestler running a sushi cafe, which may make the Main Street of Bakersfield bubble once again with activity and restore the local economy.

There are a host of colorful and wacky customers to keep happy, some making life more than interesting as they display their unusual powers, at times to your detriment. Life wasn't meant to be easy and you will have vampires turning some of your customers into their own, ninjas detonating smoke bombs and stunning your loyal followers or chefs talking people who have already ordered into changing their minds and ordering something else from the menu at the last minute. There are also pirates, thieves, aliens and a Super Wannabe that must be served as quickly as possible.

Fortunately you do have plenty of upgrades to earn that will help you make your stores more efficient. There are over 100 levels and you have the ability to jump between each location in order to manage each store and develop it into a first class shop.

This can get hectic at times and the pace is fast and furious, but that's what time management fan thirst for. Cake Mania Main Street is certainly a stand out, with a nice variety of tasks and different characters to keep you on your toes. Replay value is high, as your decisions at each stage play a huge part in the overall outcome of the game.
