Aztec Tribe Game Review
Aztec
Tribe reminds me of my all time favorite pc game Age of Empires,
in that you must help a tribe of villagers start a new civilization
and grow food, collect resources and build structures. You not
only develop their village, but later teach them to defend themselves
from a range of blood thirsty marauders that are intent on the
good old kill and pillage sport, that was so popular with conquering
hordes before the 18th century.
There is gold to dig, wood to collect and food to harvest, but
the real focus is on solid strategy, building the right structures
in the right places to meet level goals. There are 34 levels with
the difficulty level rising as you progress through the game,
yet it never gets that hard where you are completely stuck. While
you need to meet required goals, there is a basic amount that
will give you a one star pass and a higher amount that earns you
a 3 star or gold ranking. You can always replay the level to reach
the higher rank.
There will be disasters to face from time to time and pests to
overcome, but if you fail a level you can play again with different
building location options. This attribute also gives the game
good replay value. While it is a click and click and click game,
because there is no timer, there is no rush to complete tasks,
hence it's not a frenzied point and click game. If the custom
cursor is a bit jerky or annoys you, you can turn it off, thankfully.
:)
This is not in the style of My
Tribe or Virtual
Villagers where you look after the tribes health and educate
them to populate an island. Aztec Tribe differs from those 2 titles
as it is primarily a strategy based building game, where you collect
the necessary resources and build required structures to meet
goals.
Nice graphics and easy on the ear music makes the time fly, and
the length of the game is good value for those who enjoy a relaxed,
yet challenging building strategy game. Aztec Tribe is one of
the better time management games to come out for some time and
we recommend you at least try the free trial download to see if
this is one you would also enjoy. Aztec Tribe gets thumbs up from
us for containing all the right attributes of a engrossing casual
game.
