World of Zellians Kingdom Builder Game Review

World of Zellians Kingdom Builder is a simple game of strategy where you are required to rebuild 9 Kingdoms of Zellia that have been allowed to deteriorate badly. The royal leaders were too busy feuding with one another to look after the populace and the people need you help and building prowess to bring the suffering Zellian population into the modern world

While World of Zellians Kingdom Builder is similar to recent real estate type games such as Empire Builder Ancient Egypt, it is fresh and entertaining, has it's fair share of colorful and quirky characters and has a few unique twists and turns that stamps it as a major player in the simulation game genre. It is a true sim game as your strategy will figure highly in the overall game play.

Whilst there is no timer, meeting goals requires good strategy. You do have a tutor who teaches you the basics of building cities, and you can always bulldoze down existing buildings or rip out roads to make room for larger structures that are assigned as goals. There are timed bonus games within each Kingdom that you unlock after meeting specified goals. You can also play Free Play mode where there are no specified goals to meet.

World of Zellians Kingdom Builder is pretty good and very hard to put down once you get into the game. While everything relies on being connected to the water supply, you do have to clear rocks and build certain structures before you can construct later buildings. For example, your city needs a grain farm before you can have a pig farm to supply meat for the population. If you want a juice store in the city, you can't get fruit if you don't first have an orchard. This relies on solid advance planning, but you always have the demolish option to get you out of trouble. On the whole, World of Zellians Kingdom Builder is fairly easy, but made that little more challenging to play with the addition of random natural disasters, such as fires and robberies, to keep you totally absorbed.
