The villagers have out grown their settlement on Isola and need to find new resources, food and land suitable for population. Several villagers set out on a quest into the unknown and during a storm are blown up onto part of the island that was once possibly a grand city, now just ruins.

As they are marooned, they decide to repair some of the ancient buildings and use the ruins as a base for a new village. Everything is available to build a thriving city, but can you manage the people and resources and grow your village.

Just like Virtual Villagers, A New Home and it's sequel, Virtual Villages The Lost Children, (which are available online free) you set the villagers tasks which they perform in real time. This is not a game you can play in a few hours. This is real life simulation and even when you are away from the computer, the villagers are performing tasks that you allotted and growing the village, but don't go away for a holiday as they may starve to death in your absence.

There are several new features such as storms, heavy rain, clouds and adverse weather that add a touch of realism. Alchemy, Restoration and Leadership replace Farming, Engineering, Exploration and Culture and two new features which add more spice are Nature and Magic.
