Time Machine Evolution Game Review
Sporting
a new device to make matches of 3 or more tiles, Time Machine Evolution
propels you from the stone age to the future with the click of a
paintball gun. This new game is certainly a colorful addition to
the match 3 genre, where you change the color of a tile with your
paintball gun by shooting the selected tile with color.
The story line takes you back to the stone age where you help a
young girl travel through time to experience the different realities
of life. It's beauty and dangers. If you do well you can unlock
theme costumes for your hero, dressing her in clothes that suit
the time era. She can't go around in more modern times wearing animal
skins, so do your best to introduce her to the latest fashions of
that era.
Like most match 3 games, Time Machine Evolution doesn't really
enthuse anyone with a dramatic or meaningful game story. It is the
game mechanics that addict the player and Time Machine Evolution
can certainly lay claim to this property. You are drawn from scene
to scene making matches and trying to keep your "temperament
gauge" high. You earn power-ups for making good combos and
"super power-ups" with great combo matches that brings
a smile to your time traveling hero.
Mini games consist of different puzzle games such as patience or
jigsaws, which are not overly difficult, and as you progress through
the game, making combo matches gets harder and harder, but the power-ups
earned offset the difficulty level. You do need good strategy as
you are playing against a timer, which gets very hectic and make
it quite difficult to succeed.
Time Machine Evolution is a very well balanced game but lacks a
"Relaxed Mode" to take the pressure off. The key to passing
levels is to make sure you buy the time freeze and time addition
bonuses, otherwise it becomes almost impossible to finish each level
playing against the clock.
In conclusion, Time Machine Evolution is a really good take on
the match 3 genre and introduces some fine game mechanisms. It is
a fast paced game which could prove perhaps way too fast for many.
A relaxed mode would make Time Machine Evolution almost perfect,
or a little more time on the clock in each level would improve player
comfort and enjoyment.
Strongly suggest trying the free demo as we don't want anyone having
a heart attack because of the hectic pace. Our review rates Time
Machine Evolution three stars from five simply because the pace
of the game, playing against a timer, makes it a bit too difficult
for the average gamer. For players who love a challenge, Time Machine
Evolution is one for you.
